Ustica Uncle Toto Cave Dive
Difficulty Difficult – Depth 0/15 meters
Ustica Uncle Toto Cave Dive, not for everyone ‚very suggestive among stalactites and stalagmites that make us reflect on the relativity of time.
This dive is reserved for small groups of divers with an advanced certification and a good experience of submerged caves.
The cave has a shallow entrance (13 meters) but the narrow entrance, the presence of a bottom formed mainly of silt, and the total loss of light inside the chamber, make it clear why this dive is only recommended for more experienced divers.
Once inside you will immediately notice on the right side of the room two totems 1 meter wide and 2 and 5 meters high respectively; continuing in the same room, on the left side, the bottom will slowly guide us towards two small but beautiful bubbles of breathable air, from whose ceiling wonderful stalactites and tree roots descend. Once re-emerged, the tour will continue that will take you to the exit, surrounded by the fantastic walls of the cave covered with suggestive limestone concretions. The dive at the Uncle Totò Cave is located in zone C of the Ustica Island Protected Marine Area.
Once outside, you will return to the boat walking over a beautiful Posidonia meadow, which is a perfect shelter for many animal and vegetable fish species.
