Ustica Harp Point Dive
Medium Difficulty – Depth 0/40 meters
Ustica Harp Point Dive, huge blocks of submerged lava host forests of red gorgonians, sponges, crustaceans and nudibranchs. The posidonia meadows are lost in the blue of the current.
This dive is for those who are not really beginners and are able to dive without too many problems. The difficulty is medium, the show is guaranteed.
After immersing ourselves on a shallow seabed of posidonia, following the vast prairie that slopes gently, we will meet huge lava blocks, covered with algae and sponges. A lunar scenario opens up: the rock wall ends on the sandy bottom at 40m. The large crimson fans of the gorgonians cover the wall: the polyps open to the current to feed themselves, elegant anthias nestle among the lush branches, lobsters and moray eels peep out, colorful nudibranchs.
At this point we will leave the gorgonians behind and we will go up winding through a complex of huge and multiform boulders, between passages and tunnels, under multicolored arches, up to dominate them to admire the dance of the pizzuti and banded bream, of the salpe and the damselfish. Shoals of barracudas and amberjacks can appear from the blue. Ustica Arpa Dive is located in zone C of the Ustica Island Protected Marine Area.
A path between tunnels and inlets that culminate in a forest of red gorgonians, and going back to the surface we will bring only beauty with us: each of us will keep it in his own way, but will hardly forget it.
