Ustica Giacone Cove Dive
Low Difficulty – Depth 0/18 meters
Ustica Giacone Cove Dive. A simple dive on a background of fine white sand, among scallops and extraordinary passages.
Here is an ideal dive for novice divers or for anyone who wants to dive and spend hours of total relaxation in the Ustica blue sea.
The depths of Giacone Cove are different from those found in the other dive sites of the island: we will find ourselves in front of a regular and infinite expanse of fine white sand that gives the site a lunar appearance.
The flickering of the colorful scallop fish raises small clouds of sand, industrious mullets suck in and then spit out the grains in search of food. However, it is a wall dive, which takes place by rotating around a huge square boulder that hides cracks and passages, then overlooks the sandy plain and then returns to the cove exploring a Posidonia prairie. The Giacone cove dive is located in the cove of the same name, in zone B of the Ustica Island Protected Marine Area.
Giacone Cove owes its name to the pebbles that characterize it, called “ciacuni” in the local dialect.
